Do you fail to reach your fitness goals each year? Do you start the year off with a bang but quickly burn out of your routine before Valentine's Day? Below, you will find some tips that can help you go further towards reaching your personal fitness goals this year.
Hire a Personal Trainer
One of the most motivational tools you can have is a personal trainer. Having that one person who knows how to push you through the work and encourage you to stick to your routine is one thing that cannot be beat by any pair of jeans hanging on your bedroom wall pushing you to fit back into them.
If your fitness budget doesn't allow you to pay for a trainer five days a week for the entire year, schedule one or two sessions each week for the first half of the year. This will give you the time with the trainer that you need to learn how to perform each exercise properly and effectively and keep you motivated through the most difficult part of the year. By the time July rolls around, you might be so involved with your routine that you don't need that extra push.
Note: Maintain a relationship with the trainer for the rest of the year scheduling a session every other week to learn new exercises and continue on your path to fitness successfully.
Train for Short and Long Sessions
You probably don't have an hour or two to work out at the gym every single day, or even five days a week, but you can break down your workout sessions into different lengths of time.
On the days that you don't have a whole lot of time, pack an intense workout into fifteen minutes. Include weight training in these short sessions. You can get as much fat burning into one short intense session as you do an hour-long cardio session. During the days that you have the extra time, focus on cardio training for an hour or so.
Try Pilates
Pilates classes are a perfect way to work your muscles without breaking a sweat. Low impact, slow movements are designed to move and work muscles without putting your body through a beating. After your Pilates class, you may not even need a shower or redo your hair – you could be in and out of the gym and on your way to dinner in no time.
Get serious about what you hope to achieve this year. Fitness doesn't have to take all of your spare time or make you feel as though you have just gone ten rounds in the boxing ring.

During my first pregnancy, I spent a lot of time pushing pillows behind my back trying to find comfort. As the size of the baby grew, so did my discomfort. By the time she was born, I was more than ready to give birth. When I found out I was pregnant again, I was determined that I would not suffer through the same discomforts. I started researching ways to ease the symptoms of pregnancy, including back pain. I created this blog to help other expectant moms find remedies to deal with those symptoms that can be emotionally and physically draining.
